Dear Pastor, Church, and Friends,
I am pleased to recommend to you two dear friends in Christ, Jeff and Jhelyn Turner, as missionaries to the Philippines. When I was called to pastor here in February 2022, the Turners were already active in the church. Since that time, I have watched both Jeff and Jhelyn grow spiritually and sharpen themselves for the work of the ministry. I’ve seen them personally sacrifice to gain a better knowledge of Scripture, seek counsel, and volunteer in ministries that God would use to train them.
They both currently help in our Christian school, and if the Lord allowed, I would have no hesitation to ask them to join our full-time staff. I believe they are genuine, Spirit-filled, and surrendered believers ready to fulfill God’s will.
In the summer of 2024, the Turner family took a survey trip to the Philippines. During this trip, they confirmed where God was leading them, and some of Jhelyn’s family was saved at the same time. Through this, I have seen God’s hand of blessing on them. They have well prepared, and the Lord has approved.
Would you please partner with them in prayer and financial support to allow them to reach the field? May God be glorified as His work is accomplished.
All for Jesus,
Pastor John Woullard

To Whom It May Concern:
Please accept this as a hearty recommendation of the Jeff and Jhelyn Turner family, who are missionaries on deputation to the Philippines.
It has been my joy to know them since 2013, when I assumed the pastorate of Shenandoah Bible Baptist Church in Martinsburg, WV. The Lord was directing them to find a Christian school for their young son, Zach, and as a result, they also found a Gospel-preaching church! Jeff had already been saved, but the Lord used SBBC to lead Jhelyn to a biblical understanding of faith in Christ.
After that, the Turners became very faithful and involved, making their spiritual growth a priority. Church attendance, discipleship, soul winning, daily Bible reading and prayer—coupled with eventual opportunities for Jeff to preach Sunday services in the local prison—were all used by the Lord to bring them to a place of surrender to His call concerning missions.
As Jeff’s pastor, I had many counseling sessions with him that allowed me to advise and encourage him to take steps toward formal Bible college training, which he has diligently pursued.
The Turners are some of the most genuine, teachable, giving, and servant-hearted Christians you will ever meet. I believe that God has uniquely gifted them for the call He has placed upon their lives.
I trust that you will prayerfully consider supporting this fine family as they seek to reach the needy field of the Philippines.
Sincerely,
Dr. Corey R. Bane

To Whom It May Concern:
It is my pleasure to write recommending Jeffrey and Jhelyn Turner as missionaries to the Philippines. God has burdened their hearts for reaching the Filipino people with the Gospel, with a special burden to help national pastors plant churches. In a world where hearts are hardened and laborers are few, it is encouraging to find a family like the Turners—with a sincere desire to follow the Lord’s leading and serve as missionaries to the Philippines.
I have known Jeffrey and his family since 2010. As a young family attending Shenandoah Bible Baptist Church in Martinsburg, WV—where I was an assistant pastor—Jeff became involved in my Sunday school class and demonstrated a hunger to learn and grow in his walk with the Lord. Over the years, I have built a close relationship with his entire family. Jeff has worked diligently to gain the training he needs to serve God as a missionary. He has enrolled in Bible college and is close to completing his studies, preaches weekly at a local jail, and took a survey trip to the Philippines this past summer.
His wife, Jhelyn, is from the Philippines and already understands the culture and language, which will be a tremendous asset to their ministry. These qualities together make the Turners well qualified to serve the Lord as missionaries.
As a friend in the ministry, I would like to encourage you to prayerfully consider helping the Turners with financial and prayer support as they follow God’s will in the Philippines. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
John Doss

Thank you for taking the time to read this letter and prayerfully consider Jeff Turner and his family for support as they prepare to go to the Philippines. Jeff and Jhelyn have an active part of the ministry here at Shenandoah Bible Baptist Church. Jeff leads one of our adult Bible classes, disciples’ others, and serves in the Christian school. Jhelyn serves faithfully with Jeff and has demonstrated a willing heart in many areas of ministry in the church and school.
As mission’s director, the opportunity to counsel and guide in the Lord’s calling to the Philippines has been a joy and blessing. Jeff is authentic through and through. He and his family are kindhearted and teachable people that have a fervent desire to follow God’s plan in missions. From mentoring and training to receiving instruction through Bible Colleges the Turner’s have continued to grow, mature, and sharpen their lives for the Gospel ministry. The calling of God is genuine in the Turner family, and God has gifted them for such a time as this.
I do believe that you will find these tender-hearted servants of God worthy of your support. God is preparing a special ministry for the Turner family as they endeavor to reach the Filipinos with the Gospel and see God establish churches.

To Whom It May Concern:
It is my pleasure to recommend to you Jeffrey Turner and his family as missionaries to the Philippines. I have known this family for several years, since the time I served on staff at Shenandoah Bible Baptist Church in Martinsburg, WV, where I was their children’s principal.
Bro. Jeff was an engineer by profession. He is a smart, organized, and gifted man with a wonderful family. They are soulwinners, servants at heart, and now surrendered to go to the field.
